Beginning the Journey

Does God Exist? 4 New Arguments

Science tells us that universe came into being via The Big Bang. But how do you get from energy and matter to a self-aware human being? That takes three additional Big Bangs that science can't explain. Noted theologian, Frank Pastore, unravels this compelling mystery and, in the process, poses the ultimate question that every thinking person must face.

God vs. Atheism: Which is More Rational?

Belief in God, according to atheists, is irrational, illogical, and dumb. Belief that the universe created itself is, they say, intelligent, rational, and based in science. This is simply false. Nothing can create itself. Everything has a cause--including the universe. That cause, argues Peter Kreeft, professor of philosophy at Boston College, is God, the "unmoved mover."

Growing in Belief and Knowledge

Three-Minute Daily Retreat

Loyola Press offers a three-minute daily retreat with Scripture, music, and images.

The Real Story

In The Real Story, Edward Sri and Curtis Martin break open the Word to examine how all these pieces fit together into one cohesive narrative—a story of how, little by little, God has drawn His people into closer union with Himself, culminating in the coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Church. Through a closer study of the key characters and events in the larger biblical narrative, Sri and Martin show that the Bible ultimately isn’t a collection of disjointed stories, but an epic saga of God’s infinite love for us and His perfect plan for our salvation since the beginning of time.

My Daily Catholic Bible

Have you ever read the entire Bible? You can now. Here’s the Bible that shows you how. My Daily Catholic Bible, Revised NAB Edition offers a reading plan that divides all of Sacred Scripture into 365 segments, one for each day of the year; features two small, manageable readings for each day, one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament; offers an insightful quote from a saint for every day.

Thirsting for God

Mother Teresa understood what it meant to thirst for God, and she poured out her life on behalf of God, whom she saw in the poorest of the poor. In Thirsting for God, you will encounter in each of these 365 daily readings the woman who yearned to know God above all else and whose words point the way for those who long to quench that same thirst.

Jesus Calling

Jesus Calling is a devotional filled with uniquely inspired treasures from heaven for every day of the year.  After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down whatever she believed He was saying to her.  It was awkward at first, but gradually her journaling changed from monologue to dialogue.  She knew her writings were not inspired as Scripture is, but journaling helped her grow closer to God.  Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her messages.  They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling.  It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.

Desiring More

Rediscover Jesus

At a time when so many people are spiritually disillusioned and searching for ways to live, love, work, and play that nurture the soul rather than destroy it, Matthew Kelly once again delivers a powerful book that encourages us in our weariness, challenges us in our comfort, and invites us to rediscover the beautiful possibilities God places before us daily.  Rediscover Jesus is a profound invitation to seek deeply personal answers to our deeply personal questions. Each page seems to effortlessly reach into every aspect our lives, providing spiritual wisdom and practical insights that help us to know both Jesus and ourselves in a new way.  Some books find us at just the right time, and those books change our lives forever. Rediscover Jesus is one of those books.

The Great Adventure

There are adult, teen, middle school, and kids resources. There is also the Great Adventure Bible Timeline Learning System which does the following:

  1. It Simplifies the Bible by focusing on fourteen narrative books that tell the story of Scripture, from beginning to end.
  2. It Divides the Story into twelve time periods that act like chapters in salvation history.
  3. It ties all of Scripture together by following God’s “family plan” from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church.
  4. It makes it Easy to Remember by color-coding each of the time periods.

Women's Small Groups

In small groups, women live out their common foundation of faith in God in a relational community. Small groups provide a way to live out our purpose - not only as individuals, but also as a collective group of believers - with the purpose being to become more like Jesus in every area of our lives.

Christ Peace House

Founded on the scripture texts "Be still and know that I am God ( Ps 46:11)" and "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples (Is 56:7)" , Christ's Peace House of Prayer strives to offer Christ's peace to people of all religious backgrounds who are seeking prayerful refuge and sacred solitude. The mission of Christ's Peace House of Prayer is to foster prayer, renewal, and spiritual growth, and to pray for the needs of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, the Church at large, and the world in the Catholic Tradition.

Cursillos in Christianity is a Movement which, by its own Method, attempts from within the Church, to give life to the essential Christian truths in the singularity, originality and creativity of the person. Cursillo begins with three days [weekend] of joyful living and sharing – a short but intense course in Christianity.  Because each person’s circumstances in life are different and each has a very unique relationship with God, the Cursillo weekend is truly a personal experience and as such can’t be fully described.  It must be lived and experienced firsthand to appreciate its richness and fullness.  The Cursillo weekend is an encounter with oneself, Christ, and others.
